Solar as a Neighbor

Solar projects are good neighbors. They emit no air pollution, no water pollution, and no chemical emissions. They are quiet. They are low-lying, can be setback from the property line, and largely screened from view using natural vegetation.

Paddlefish Solar is committed to – and designed to – minimize viewshed impacts using generous setbacks, vegetative screening, and agricultural-style fencing.

Landscape Mitigation Planting Plan

Paddlefish Solar has prepared a Landscape Mitigation Planting Plan that will govern the establishment of permanent vegetation around the project's perimeter. The density and height of the trees and shrubs takes into account the location of residences. For example, trees and shrubs will be planted where the panels would otherwise be most visible from a residence. These Plans are developed with the goal of minimizing and mitigating the Project's visual effects on the surrounding landscape.

Good Neighbor Program

Paddlefish Solar announced the Annual Energy Credit Program, which will help offset energy costs for neighbors of the project. For landowners whose properties adjoin the project site, Paddlefish is offering a $750 annual credit on their annual energy bill (the benefit can be transferred with the property in case of a sale). This program will begin once the project is under construction and will last for the first 15 years of the project.
